Making your base at Walkerbouts allows visitors to go on day-trips to the surrounding area albeit fly fishing, scenic and 4x4 routes, bird-watching and much more.  Visits to the local rock art sites can be made by prior arrangement at the Rhodes Info Centre located in Muller Street.  

The Info Centre is also where fly fishing day permits are sold that allow enthusiasts access to beats on more than 200km of running water within and hour's drive of Rhodes.  

The streams and rivers are home to Rainbow trout and Smallmouth yellowfish that provide great sport as well as home to several oher indigenous species cohabiting in these waters.
